For queries within the area of Lancashire between the Ribble and the Mersey. This board covers the areas of all our Groups - Liverpool, Southport, Warrington, Skelmersdale, Leigh and Widnes.
The Leigh Group, formed in 1982, is one of the six groups of the Liverpool and South West Lancashire Family History Society. Meetings are held in the Derby Room at Leigh Library throughout the winter months. These are held on the third Tuesday of each month except June, July and December, and start at 7. 30 pm but a Help Desk is available from 7. Unfortunately we are unable to carry.

History of the Liverpool and South West Lancashire Family History Society. As the membership of the Society grew, other branches were set up by members residing outside Liverpool, but within the Liverpool Diocese and the historic area of the West Derby Hundred. Helens, Southport, Skelmersdale, Leigh, Warrington and Widnes and a special interest group for those with Anglo-Irish ancestry. We continue to meet each month, with several founder members still attending.
